TWC Tech
The technology arm of Travis Wake Charters
TWC Tech is two things: the operating platform Travis Wake Charters runs on, from the first click on a date to the last line in the books, and the on-boat instrumentation we are building so the cost of every trip is a measured number rather than an estimate. The platform is XRise Tech. The instrument is the TWC Tech Box, a boat GPS tracker that logs engine hours, in development for the 2027 season on Lake Travis.
The platform
XRise Tech: a complete operating system for a captained charter business
Most operators run on a booking widget, a waiver app, a spreadsheet and a text thread, and none of the four agree. XRise Tech replaces the set with one system of record: a booking, its waivers, its crew, its costs and its money, written once and read everywhere.
Selling the trip
Instant online booking against real availability, tiered and seasonal pricing, deposits with automatic balances, and group split-pay so a party shares one boat and one deposit. A pre-season waitlist offers each date to the first person in line before it goes public. Packages, memberships, gift certificates, merch, camps and events sell through the same checkout.
Running the day
Digital waivers are versioned instruments: every signature snapshots the exact text it was signed against. The crew app carries trip checklists, a safety gate, engine hours, fuel and a time clock. An AI concierge quotes from live pricing and the live calendar.
Keeping the books
Owner reports and company books with per-trip cost, overhead, maintenance intervals and processor reconciliation, so the payout and the ledger agree to the cent. One attention list queues everything that needs a human.
Shipping it safely
Every change is a numbered release with a recorded deployment and a one-command rollback. Row-level security on every table, private storage, secrets in a vault. Built in Austin, Texas, by the people who run the boat.
It is proven on this company’s own bookings. Since the first platform booking on 4 August 2026, twelve paid charters and 41 digital waivers across thirteen bookings have gone through it. Twelve scheduled jobs have completed 5,201 of 5,201 runs in the last 90 days with no gap longer than 33 minutes, and eight versioned releases have shipped, each with a recorded rollback path. Figures from the production database.
The instrument
TWC Tech Box: an engine hour meter that keeps its own log
For two seasons our engine hours came from a dial somebody read at the ramp, when they remembered. The TWC Tech Box is a small cellular unit, wired in once, that reads the engine directly rather than inferring a trip from movement. For each trip it records engine time, time under way, distance and top speed, and files one short report when the trip ends. The software it reports to is XRise Tech: the box is the hardware, XRise is the software, and the booking is where they meet.
What it is
A boat monitoring system for a charter boat fleet of our size, designed in Austin for Lake Travis, where cellular coverage is good and a day runs from one ramp back to the same ramp. One unit covers a wakesurf boat and an outboard pontoon, so rental boat tracking for a mixed fleet does not mean two systems. Marine telematics has mostly been sold to marinas; this is the version for two people and two boats.
What it is not
Not a live map, a theft alarm or a satellite unit, and it does not record who is aboard. It is in development for the 2027 season: designed, firmware written, not yet run on a boat. There is no price and no ship date.
This page is about the boats we run, not a shop. XRise Tech is the company that will sell it to other operators, and the place to put your name down.
How they meet
The join is the booking. When a trip ends, the box’s report reaches the platform, which attaches it to the charter that was on that boat at that time. From then on the booking carries its measured engine hours beside the fuel fill, the crew pay and what the guest paid. Cost per trip, maintenance intervals and the margin on a Saturday come from measured numbers, and the engine hour meter the schedule runs on is one nobody had to type.
Run your operation on XRise
XRise Tech suits a captained charter company, a surf or wake school, a pontoon or tour operator, or a guide: one to five hulls, a small crew, a season, and an owner who wants the dock and the books in one place. Licensed per operator, stood up on your own accounts.
Questions about TWC Tech
What is TWC Tech?
The technology arm of Travis Wake Charters: the XRise Tech platform the company runs on, and the TWC Tech Box, the engine-hours and track logger we are building for our own boats on Lake Travis.
What is the TWC Tech Box?
A small cellular boat GPS tracker that logs engine hours and the route of each trip and files one short report per trip against the booking. It is in development for the 2027 season and has not yet run on a boat.
How does the box measure engine hours?
It reads the engine directly rather than inferring a trip from movement, so engine time, time under way, distance and top speed are measured figures, and the maintenance schedule counts down from them.
Is XRise Tech available to other charter operators?
Yes. XRise Tech is licensed per operator and built in Austin, Texas. Travis Wake Charters is its first operator, under a written licence. Operators can get in touch at traviswakecharters.com/xrise.
Can I buy a TWC Tech Box for my own boat or rental fleet?
Not from us. Travis Wake Charters runs the box; XRise Tech sells it. The first units are for our own fleet for the 2027 season, and there is no price or ship date yet. If you want one for your fleet, register your interest with XRise Tech at getxrise.com/software/tech-box and they will come back to you with terms when there are terms.
What software does the TWC Tech Box use?
XRise Tech. The box is designed to file one report per trip, which the platform attaches to the charter booking that was on that boat at that time. The receiving end is built and no box has sent it anything yet. XRise is the software, the box is the hardware, and XRise Tech is at getxrise.com.
Does the box track guests during a charter?
No. It records the boat, not the people aboard. There is no live map and no guest-facing screen.
Built on XRise Tech, the booking platform behind this site.
